She is about 2 weeks old. She's huge! But she's an indoor pet and right now I have woodchips down but a towel over them. Also I have a question. She is beginning to turn me but if I yell at her Im scared shell hate me what should I do?
Don´t yell, don´t smack. She´s chinese, right? They´re more inclined to be a handful, from what I read and see. Different to some, I never use woodchips.
Is she nipping at you? I put my gosling on wood shavings at 2 weeks old if they are large shaving they may nibble but didn't eat any. can you post a pic of what they look like? do you keep feed out for her at all times along with water? Most gosling are nippy. keep her from nipping at your hands by not hand feeding her and give her something to do like hang a head of Romaine lettuce in her brooder. Do you take her outside at all/ geese get bored easily and need to be doing something preferably grazing on some lush green grass.
Such a good tip of Miss Lydia about keeping a head of lettuce in there for her to pick at. Goslings love to nibble. It´s what they do.
I always feed my goslings´crumb and cracked corn from a pot, not my hand. Except for greens..they take those from my hand, and they´ve never been nippy, any of them, even the ones I reared myself. Feeding from the pot is great, because even now, as adults, they all come running when they see the pot. It makes it so easy to get them where I want them.
