Help with hatching

My hen stopped sitting on her eggs about 13 days after I put them under her. I brought them in and have them in a makeshift incubator. Do I count from when she started sitting or when I put them under lights for the hatch time?

sitting, the incubation process does not restart

You count from when incubation began, i.e. when the hen started sitting. The first 24 hours is day 1, the next day 2 and so on. On day 18 you need to stop turning the eggs and lockdown, bump up the humidity to 65%-70% and don't open the incubator until the chicks have hatched. Good luck!
