Help With Hen?

My hen last night lost a nail. It bleed pretty good throughout the night. I bandage it this morning with some ontiment. Will she be ok? She is acting ok eating and drinking.

She should be fine, they do bleed alot though, so just clean it out good and then it will heal fine, one of my hens would keep getting hers to bleed but it finally healed with out any problems.. I did spray it with Blue-kote to help it along though and to keep others from pecking it.

I had one do this too - it's pretty scary the first time when you come in the coop and find blood and have to track down who/where it's coming from

With our hen, the nail was still attached, so I clipped it the rest of the way off. Then just to be sure, I confined her to a pet carrier overnight so she'd move/walk on it less. She was fine the next day.

thanks so much. It looked like there was a major fight in my coop last night blood everywhere. I freaked out this morning.
