So right now I have two chickens a white lehorn 10mmonths old an a 13wk pullet. Now my leghorn stella is the sweetest little hen and eeven with chicks is at the bottom of pecking order. She will not peck back EVER. And I want to build another coop an pen in my back yard keep my spring chicks if they all hatch an live in two weeks. But i want to be able to house them all together. I would place the pullet an hen out once built an is warmer out. They are in a big box coop I made in my basement and then turn that into a brooder when chicks hatch etc and than move them out once its warm enough for them. I plan to keep my leghorn in this area for as long as I have her only because she was at the bottom of pecking order to my flock an was the favorite an over bread she become bareback an thats why she had to come inside. She's also the smallest compared to my big hardy birds. But I want her to have her own safe space an not have to worry about my roosters but is still able to see everyone. I've tried rehoming her an asking my sister to add to her flock of hens but no one seems to want her. She really is special an sweet so if Im going to have her I want her to not worry. I just dont know how to introduce little chicks to her.is this a good idea?
