When I got my d'Uccles, they were the tiniest chicks I had ever seen. Well yesterday we stopped into TSC and they had all their bantams marked down to $1...I just had to get 10 more! Half the chicks they got in last Fridays shipment were even tinier than the d'Uccles. Its hard to believe they are even going to be chickens!
Here is two I picked out. The little black one actually has longer wing feathers than the other (Cochin or Brahma?). Can anyone tell me what breed the little black one might be? Why are they so tiny? Could it be that someone was hatching pullet eggs. They had chipmunky OEGBs that were almost as tiny. The Cochin/Brahma one isn't very big either, but more what I would expect from a Bantam chick.
I got 3 or 4 other tiny ones, but this little black one could almost fit inside a thimble!
