Help with kitten?

Mama cat wasaccidently killed and kittens taken to shelter. All were fostered except 1. He,was born around the first week of May, approx 3 weeks when I got him June 2nd.
Now, at 3 months old, he has decided to hunt. He stays mainly outside. He found and killed a frog, and has moved on to the toads. He knows where the toad house is, and regularly patrols it.
How can I deter/stop him from killing the toads/frogs/lizards?
He is also patrolling the gopher holes, which is fine. He cannot be an inside cat-so please don't suggest that option

I don’t think there is any way to prevent him from hunting frogs or toads.

Unless you fence in the area, theres no way to keep him out. I feel your pain except I have the opposite problem, predators hunting and catching my cats. We can only have smart Siamese's up here because of it.
