Help with mites on chicks

We have 4 baby chicks that are two weeks old (Black Sex Links). Brought them home from Tractor Supply to add to our flock.

We have 5 adult Black Sex Links already and 6 adult Buff Orpingtons.
The adults are free range in a 2 acre pasture. We coop them at night within a stall within a run-in barn.

The babies are within a 2 foot wide, 4 foot long wooden enclosure within the stall. The babies have a heat lamp and a brooder plate. Believe the babies have mites. They’re losing their feathers around their throats and wings. They appear itchy (working under their wings with their beaks, some rolling like the adult girls do in their dust bath in the pasture).

Adult hens appear fine.

I'm assuming they got them from where you put them. You might consider moving them since once you treat they will continue to get infested. Hopefully, someone with more mite experience will respond, but if you have DE would say that dusting them is a good place to start.
Poor babies, hope you get a response quickly.

Welcome! You can see mites or lice by looking carefully around their vents, and all over, at night with a flashlight. Examine all your birds then! If any bird has any 'bad bugs', then treat everyone.
Permethrin spray concentrate is the easiest to use, but in cold weather, permethrin dust works fine. Wear a N95 dust mask from the paint department, and treat all the birds. Cleaning out their bedding, and treat the floor before adding new bedding, and spray the walls, everything.
This may have to be repeated in ten to fourteen days, especially if you use the permethrin dust.
Mites are miserable, but will turn up sometimes, from exposure to those little wild birds.

De is bad for everyone to breathe, and doesn't work. Wood ash won't fix it either. Use an effective approved product!

Wait can you actually see the mites? Because dust bathing and grooming is normal for 2 week old chicks and some minor bald patches as they get in feathers can be normal too around the neck and especially under the wings. Not saying they don't have mites just that the behaviors you mentioned seem normal.
