I have no idea if this is the right area to post this...I'm new to BYC.
I am in a bit of a pickle. My family and I started a new flock this spring with many different chicken breeds, and a few ducks and a turkey.
UNFORTUNATELY, 6 of these supposed 'hens' are crowing now.
We would like to keep at least one, but POSSIBLY two of them.
What is the best way to go about finding the other four homes? I don't want them to go to someone who is going to use them for a chicken dinner, and I REALLY don't want them to go to some punk who is going to try and fight them.
I am in Western Washington...Anyone else from around here that knows a place these guys can go? I have an ad on craiglist, but no one is responding.
The roosters that we want to sell are as follows-
2 Frizzle Cochins- One red (about 5 months old) and one black (about 2 months old)
1 Cuckoo Maran (5 months old)
1 Rhode Island Red (2 months old)
They are all STUNNING birds. Especially the Cuckoo. I hate to let them go, but they will do nothing to terrorize my hens, and cause a ruckous with the neighbors.
HELP PLEASE!
