please tell me why you think they are hens.....I would love it if they were all hens....I do not wish to breed or hatch eggs anytime soon....th thought of having 9 SLW roosters and only 3 hens is just not good....3 roosters and 9 hens is better, but still not what I am wanting....

I have looked at 1000 pictures of SLW hens and roosters....just don't know...???

I was looking at some pictures of some adult SLW's and I have got to say......many of my 9 week old chicks look like adult hens....I know that three of the 12 are going to be hens.....the other nine....could be roos....but the wattles on each of them are very different and they look at 9 weeks like adult hens.....one posters says the look like hens, two others are saying roos....I am sure I have my fair share of roos....but I want to know why posters think what they think.

Thanks

Because of the redness and size of their combs and wattles. I raise three varieties of wyandottes and the pullets do not get any red like yours have in their combs until they are several months old. Every once in a while I'll have a late blooming roo that fools me for a while, but I've never had a pullet fool me at the age yours are.
