I have a question about one of my hens. If anybody can help me. She been really weak the past two days. Still eating and drinking just walking really low to the ground and sluggish. Checked on her to day and she had diarrhea and it was matted to her feathers completely covering her vent. I brought her in and cleaned her up. Tool her back put and she went straight back to eating. Does anybody know what might be causing this and how I fix it. She's a 1 1/2 old frizzle Easter egger bantam. And a very much loved hen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is she eggbound? Is her abdomen swollen? Has she laid recently? Have you done a vent check?
Any other sick birds? Any history of illness in the flock?
Has she been treated for worms lately? Have you done a bug check?

Not egg bound no bugs and no other sick birds. I'm thinking now it might just be from not being able to eat. I went out about an hour ago and cleaned her up again and set a bowl of food in front if her and she ate. Went back out 30 mins later and her croop was full for the first time all day. Could that be the cause of the weakness and diarrhea? I have an older hen that's been being a real butthead the past couple of weeks. Thinks she hasn't been letting her eat

Someone told me to give probiotics from TSC. does this sound like it will help?

Well, it can't hurt. You may want to put out a few feed dishes so your older hen is not hoarding resources.
