Hey Ya’ll. So my partner and I have a pair of silkies (Sage & Rosemary) and they have been mating like rabbits. BUT all of the eggs she has laid have been infertile. She has laid roughly 12 and have put them in the incubator in different batches. But every batch has had the same outcome ( infertile ) so I’m thinking that maybe Sage isn’t hitting the (sweet spot) lol because of all there fluff. Does anyone have suggestions or answer as to why all the eggs are duds ? Thanx for your help.

It's quite possible that the rooster is infertile.
I don't believe Silkies 'miss the target' due to their feathering, or one would expect all Silkies to have breeding problems.

Hey Shadrach. I’ve thought about that too but obviously I don’t know for sure. I was thinking he was maybe missing because 1-the fluff 2- because he is much bigger then she is and maybe he is having a hard time staying on long enough to do the job. I don’t know what to think about it hence why I posted here lol.

You could stand and watch.:D
It is possible that he misses but given you've incubated a few (?) probability would suggest he got it right a few times.
I had a rooster here who had a 'bad leg'. His success rate was a bit here and there, but you could see due to his bad leg that he sometimes couldn't get both his feet to stay on the hens shoulders and tended to slip to one side at that crucial moment.;)
He did manage to be a dad despite the leg problems.

Might have to sit and really watched to see lol. But he does it when we’re sitting right beside there pen. I was thinking about maybe trimming the fuzz around
Both there vents just
Incase that is the issue. We’ve incubated 14 eggs I think it was and there was no sign of anything in them. No veins, blood spot or blood ring or any kind of blood anything:( we’re just sad and frustrated.

I would crack a few eggs open and check for the bullseye, If it is there than you could have a problem with your incubator?
