Help with skunk in trap!

Hmm.. I walk up to skunks in cage traps. (Slowly) and then give them a lethal injection with a syringe from about 3-4 ft away. No tarp, no rain gear.
Of all of the skunks I've done in this way, I've only ever had one spray (very small amount) and that was because somebody else came walking up right before the skunk expired.

Personally, I like skunks and dislike killing them, but sometimes it has to be done.

We kill them too. We trap them first. Now we are using a riffle instead of a shotgun. Seems to work better for us. I hate to kill animals, but sometimes you have to do it to protect yourself or your animals. I don't do it because there may be a slim chance of rabies. Only a very small percentage has rabies, so please don't say it may have it and has to be killed.

Now skunk cleanup:

I've found that Oxyclean will get the smell off your hands and clothes. Do not use this on animals, just items that came in contact.

Here is a recipe for pets and larger area stench removal with a garden sprayer.

1 quart hydrogen peroxide (3%)
1/4 cup baking soda
A couple of drops of dog shampoo or dish washing liquid when not used on pets

Sponge onto to dog, let sit for 3 minutes, rinse and repeat.

To spray equipment add another quart of water, fill into garden sprayer and spray area. No rinsing needed.
