Hello all, my Buff Orpington Buffy seems to have hurt her leg probably getting up and down to roost as she's pretty big! Brought her in the house yesterday for a look-see and could not find any sign of breakage or skin tears or any visual damage. She remained very calm the whole time and could sense that we wanted to help! She slept down bottom in one of the nest boxes where we had put her when we returned her to the coop. She can stand but limps badly in favor of that leg. Has any dealt with this, will it get better or is there something else that I can do? I hate to see anyone or thing in pain if I can help it. Thanks for the ears!

you can try and limit her movement like jumping by bringing her inside in a pet carrier for a few days while the injury heals

I had the same thing with a young pullet. I tried isolating her but decided to just let her be. She limped for about 1 mo then she got completely better and is still doing great. She layed around alot and did not hang with the others b/c she could not keep up.
