I have a small section of our yard that grass doesn’t grow and it’s near our fire pit. We want to put something down bc it looks horrible. I’ve made 2 suggestions.
1. Patio stone
2. Recycled rubber - think the chickens may eat it.
Husbands keeps complaining about the area every time I say something - it’s I don’t know.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

sand? they might eat that too but it wouldn't hurt them, and it's easy to replenish. With some of the fire ash they'd use it as a dustbath, so win-win!

I would just put grass seed on it and see if it makes a difference. Sod could also work, as ash works as great fertilizer. I personally HATe patches of stuff that doesn’t match the surroundings so I would replace it with grass.

Thank you for the suggestions- hubby says it’s a high traffic area grass won’t last long.
