Sorry in advance for the long post!
I have a buff orp, she’s about one week old. I got her and her sister at a feed store about a week ago, so I’m guessing about her age. Her sister has gained weight and is feathering, an prefers to be with my four-week old girls. I do still have the babies separated when I’m not with them, but she will cry to be with the rest of the girls.
The little girl I’m concerned about doesn’t move around in the brooder much, kind of stands around, etc. She’s not growing as fast as the other BO, less feathers, smaller. She will peck around occasionally, but just
If I wear a scarf and tuck her in around my neck, she’s happy. She’ll eat from my fingers, etc.
should I leave her in the smaller brooder with the other BO? Should I go get her a younger brooder mate? Should I through them all together so the bigger BO is happy and hope for the best?
I have checked brooder temps and there is access to fresh water and water with electrolytes.
