Hi
I have ten 7 week old keets which were hatched and mothered by my experienced hen for their first 5 weeks. I then moved the keets to their new house/aviary which is in a separate yard about 20 metres from where my free ranging hens and rooster live. The keets bonded well to their new house and after a little training spent their days in their yard, returning to their house independently in the late afternoon. Fantastic I thought .... this was much easier than I anticipated. However, this week it has all changed! As soon as they are let out they hot foot it to the hen yard, scaling the fence and follow their mum around all day. Does anyone have any advice how I can keep them in their yard or am I being unrealistic about the situation? I prefer the guineas are kept away from my hens and rooster if possible. Is this doable? Thanks for any advice.
