Help with weird egg??

I got this funky looking egg yesterday. I didn’t think much of it as we’ve gotten double yolks and fairy eggs before. We had a soft shell egg not too long ago but I provided oyster shells in a separate dish and that problem seemed to be handled. I cracked the egg this morning and it was full of blood. I have 2 Isa Browns and 4 Golden Comets. They’ve been laying for a little over 10 months now. I just checked this morning and got 6 good eggs. Should I be concerned?!?

I've seen corrugated eggs before - one of my hens laid three in a row last week - but I have not seen one full of blood like this. I've tagged one of our Educators, I'm sure she can help.

I would describe that more as a wrinkled egg shell. It may be due to infectious bronchitis virus, or stress in the flock. The bloody egg seen is not that common, but they can occasionally have a small blood spot. I would be concerned that she has a serious problem in her oviduct, possibly innthe shell gland part. I had a young 7 month old pullet who laid a bloody egg like that a few times, and soon it was every egg every 2-3 days. She was a welsummer, and after about 6 months she completely stopped laying permanently. The eggs are safe to eat, but gross. So, I would always crack open my 2 welsummers’ eggs to check them, and all of the bloody eggs got cooked and fed back to my chickens. Have you ever seen anyone sneezing often over a few weeks? That is the most common symptom of infectious bronchitis. Here is a good article with those and other abnormal eggs:

Thank you for your reply! I have not seen any of them sneezing and they all seem to be acting normal. About 3 weeks ago we got a soft shell egg in the nesting box and then another cracked egg inside the coop that dropped from when they were roosting at night. We were treating one girl for bumblefoot at the time and kept her inside over night so I originally thought those egg episodes were due to stress of one of them not there but now I'm not sure. I did collect 6 normal eggs today but may crack them open to see if there’s any traces of blood. Is there anything else you recommend I should do?

Since I sold eggs at my local farm to table shop, I had to stop taking my 2 welsummers’ eggs. Those got fed back to the chickens. Here is a thread with a similar bloody egg, which most people said was due to a ruptured blood vessel when the egg was forming:
