We have an unusual baby chicken we bought 12 and 1 is acting funny he isn't active like the others and he is "sad" he doesn't do much at all and isn't having fun but every now and then he jumps around

no he drinks but doesn't eat the chick starter food

How old is he? Does he eat anything? Are you coaxing him with things like plain yogurt, finely mashed hard boiled egg (moistened a bit with yogurt? He may prefer the chick feed moistened a bit. Or maybe the pieces are too large for him, you could grind them smaller.

How is he pooping? Have you checked him for pasty butt? You may want to post on "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread.

he is doing better today and I will try those today, thank you!

I had a chick the same way, but he died after 5 days. Later I learned that he could have lived if I'd given him a product called " nutri- drench" I haven't tried it personally but I'd at least try it. I know you can get it from tractor supply if you have one, but if not try googling it. Best of luck for your chicks!!

Baby goat formula will usually help if you can't find the nutri-drench, and only one drop by mouth every 8-10 hours, and I've heard that will perk him up
