I have a beautiful blue back/ ring neck pheasant male who is coughing crackling and wheezing just got him he is over a year old now but only he has this condition the four females with him don't what could it be and what should I do?

Have you ever wormed them? They should be wormed 2 times per year. After you worm them 10 days later you need to repeat the worming to kill the cycle.I use ivemec,it's available at tractor supply.3 cc per gallon of water.

Sounds like "gape worm", the symptoms you describe, is caused by the parasitic worm(Syngamus trachea) although, other illnesses can mimic this symptom also. Pheasants are especially prone/supersubtle to an infection of gape worm. A good worming regime will keep it in check. Do some research and find a wormer and a regime that works best for you. Good Luck
