My incubator jumped up to 87% humidity yesterday and stayed that way part of today. Even though I've taken the plugs out! We moved the incubator from the storage room to inside the house and now it's staying around 70%. Am I hurting my babies?? The temp has been staying around 100°. Please help me! Don't want to lose the little ones. We have 18 days left before they hatch

take out water for a bit, a little bit of rice in a cloth bag, these will help to absorb moisture you aren't hurting them yet(of course you aren't doing it on purpose) but the moisture needs to come down.

You have plenty of time to bring it back down and even it out so that the eggs loose enough moisture and the air cells grow. 70% if that is an accurate reading will drown them at hatch if it stays that high as an average. Myself, I run at 30%. I also run dry when I can (if the humidity stays above 25%). I never use my water wells for the first 17 days. If I need a bit more moisture I will add a wet sponge to the bator. Best thing you can do is empty the bator and monitor the humidity for 24 hours and see where it levels out. If it stays 30-40 without water, don't bother adding water. At day 7 check your air cells for growth and then decide if and how you need to adjust. You can get more details here: http://letsraisechickens.weebly.com...anuals-understanding-and-controlling-humidity (If you are in a high altitude than a higher humidity will be needed.)

Are you using the little giant 9300 or 10300 incubator?

Janoel knock off? Yellow??  If you don't have a separate hygrometer  in it, I would lean toward the hygrometer is out of whack.  Unless it's really dry where you are.  That much water should bring it well over what it is saying.

Its a yellow incubator ive kept the incubator in a room and im in the uk not a very warm place
