My hen has been sitting on one egg for 25 days now, how long should I let her sit before taking the egg? She did this a couple months ago also. But no baby chick

What kind of egg? Do you have a rooster?

Chicken egg and yes we have a rooster in her pen

How old is he? He may not be doing things right? Have you cracked an egg of hers to see if it's fertile ? I'd toss the egg if she's been on it for 25 days. Is she only getting up once or twice for a few minutes a day?

I'm not sure if you know this but if you crack one of her eggs and see a little white circle with a white don't in the middle that means its fertile.
