Hi guys one of my chicken is nearly a month old..... I hatched them from my hens and is from one of my own hen's eggs..... its not well it's breathing with it's mouth open what is it and what should I do plz help me

Hi there, sorry to hear your chick is not doing well...is she trying to get air? If so, she could be choking and you should check (gently) for an obstruction in her throat. Could she have swallowed something that was too large?
Or is it possibly panting? Overheated chicks can pant with their mouths open if they're too warm, what temperature is your brooder set at?

It could be choking or overheated have a look (carefully) in her throat if there is any food in there.
If there's no food, just set the brooder heat lower.

I'd certainly reduce brooder heat as the first thing to try. At that age, if you are brooding indoors, chicks don't need any additional heat.

Well i have chicken at home and they are in natural environment always with their mother.... and she is not choking either ... she opens her mouth and takes really deep breaths

Ok. And they are eating starter food? Is momma taking them to eat and drink regularly (assuming she is taking them outside)?

They should getting sufficient grit from pecking around, but chick starter food is most appropriate. You may wish to consider cutting out the wheat for the time being.

That would assume my diagnosis is correct, which it may not be. In your shoes, I'd be inclined to keep momma and chicks indoors, with just water for a few hours. I'd blitz the feed in a food processor and give that to them and see if there's any improvement. Just a thought, but what are the temperatures at the moment? Including your location under your avatar helps.
