We have severally speckled Sussex. We have had several months. They are now in a coop but 1. We noticed 1 limping and is smaller than the rest. We put her in what wever lovingly call the hospital coop. Its been resting eating drinking and moving around. It looked like it was getting better now it's not walking as much and keeping it's wings out. We been giving it medicated food and vitamin supplements. As well as some human food. We love her and even call her momma but we are scared for her. Please help. We are calling a vet but we are in florida dealing with the hurricane right now.

I would give her the vitamins in case of a deficiency. Make sure they contain riboflavin (B2.) Mix some feed and egg with water and a little plain yogurt for probiotics. How are her droppings? Coccidiosis can sometimes cause weakness, failure to gain weight, and even lameness. Other possibilities could be Mareks disease, but hopefully not. She might be happier if she can see the others, but still be in her cage.

We have been giving her B2. We put some babies with her and she is around other chickens. Her droppings seem normal. I noticed though when the babies were with her she would keep her wings spread

She shows no signs of mareks. However she has been like this a couple of weeks. It just like she doesn't walk unless it's to eat or drink. I have seen her scratch and when we put crickets in there she will run around getting them and try to take them from the younger ones

Is it during the day when it's hot or all the time?
