One of my ayam cemani juvenile roosters can’t stand on his own. He just falls over. If I hold him up he can walk he has a large appetite and is drinking water he seems perfectly fine other than the fact that he cannot stand. Any suggestion on what it can be and is there a remedy for it?! I feed all our chickens with dumor poultry chick 24% starter and flock party Dried mealworms and some fuits and veggies. We weren’t home the majority of yesterday and I found him like this this morning. He really tries to get up and kicks his legs But is stuck laying on his side

Great idea thank you! He’s in my room now and will be sleeping next to me. He has now been having normal stools. He has started breathing heavy out of beak though. I’ve given him selenium and vitamin b. No where near me carries vitamins that i need so i used what i had here and ordered some stuff. Been giving him flavorless Pedialyte as well.

So sorry to hear about your rooster! You are doing everything right for him. I hate to be the voice of doom, but with his age and the photo of him with his legs splayed out, I can't help but think he has Marek's. We've had twenty die this year of confirmed Marek's and some of them exhibited the symptoms you describe. If it is Marek's, there's nothing much you can do except hope any other juvenile chickens you might have don't get it. Our Marek's symptoms varied. One had a large tumor; others had good appetites, but all the other symptoms; others had classic symptoms (difficulty breathing, splayed legs, weight loss, depression, no preening, etc.) You might want to check out this lengthy and in depth website to see if your rooster has any of the symptoms: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq.66077/. Good luck to you and your roo!
