I just recently lost one of my buff orpingtons(3 months old). She started off looking weak, laying around, secluding herself, not eating or drinking normally, resting her head with eyes closed on her body and almost seeing like she was going to fall over. She seems to be doing much better, but then one evening I went out to check the chickens and she was dead. That was about a week or two ago. Now, I have one three month old Wyandotte that I noticed yesterday evening had one swollen eye, acting lethargic, secluding herself, not moving much and eating to lay down, not eating very much. I checked her this evening and she had poo caked on her bottom feathers, but was not blocking her vent. I added ACV with mother into their waterer the day before yesterday. I don’t know what it could possibly be?? I need all of the help I can get. I don’t know what to do!
I regularly dust them & their coop/run with DE. They’re on non medicated crumbles. ACV with mother in water. I clean their run and coop every day-every other day. They don’t really free range. They prefer to start in their run. Crop doesn’t feel hard or squishy. None of my other 5 chickens are acting sick, but I’d rather nip this in the bud ASAP before the others get sick. I thought my other one that passed had eaten something that didn’t agree with her. Obviously it’s something more serious. Thank you in advance!
