So I have eggs that have pipped but not a hole. There has been no signs of progress on the eggs. Only 1 hatched and is lonely . Is there anything I can do? It’s day 20 or 21

Assuming you're hatching chicken eggs, there's no need to worry yet, I think. 21 days is normal. How long has your first chick been hatched?
Yes, it’s chicken eggs. It hatched at 10:30 so it’s been out for about 5 hours now. It is not dry yet but I think it will be tomorrow.

Okay so, what if some of the eggs pipped and made a hole but no progress has been shown. Does that mean it died?i can’t even see any life in there but I haven’t been close up. Sorry for all the questionsb!! (1 other egg hatched so know I have 2)
How long has it been pipped? Have you read the article I linked?

I've had chicken eggs hatch in twenty hours, and I've had them hatch in two. You may need to do an assisted hatch, depending on how long it's been. I would candle to see if I can see movement if you're really worried about a particular one. Obviously, don't leave the incubator hanging open during lockdown.

@Pyxis is better with this than I am.

Good luck!

You can expect at least 6 to 12 hours of no visible progress between the pip (hole in the shell) and zipping. The chick is absorbing the remainder of the yolk sack during this time, along with the blood in the blood vessel network within the shell. It may look like nothing is happening, but this is a critical period to leave the chick alone (that is, avoid assisting).

It's best to keep the incubator closed if chicks have pipped or are zipping to keep the humidity up so the chicks do not "shrink-wrap" within the shell.

I don’t really know how long it’s been. I’m thinking I’ll wait until tomorrow to candle and see if I need to assist. Yes I read the article and it really helped.

This is my first time so I don’t know what shrink wrap is! :) Your probably right about it soaking up the yolk. I won’t do anything to it until I candle tomorrow and see if there’s any movement.
