HELP!!!

Imperative that a shallow waterer have marbles or stones in it. Quail can be VERY inventive when it comes to way of dying, and drowning is high on their list. Game bird feed and crushed a bit more in your blender if you can, much higher protein needed for quail than for chickens. IF game bird feed or turkey feed isn't available, then chick feed will have to do, but NOT medicated chick starter. A shoe box full of sand (plain old construction sand works well as it's not treated with chemicals or dyed) to be used as a dust bath AND as grit. A source of heat, a shop light will work, just make sure that part of the enclosure you're using is not heated, so that the chick can self-regulate temperature by moving around until it's comfortable. Keep water & feed on the cool side of the enclosure. No treats until you've researched what is and is not toxic to quail, some surprises on the list (like parsley is toxic to quail).

You should be prepared for it to die, also. Cats' mouths are absolutely filthy, full of bacteria meant to kill their prey, and in small animals (especially babies) the tiniest scratch can cause a fatal infection. Do you have a wildlife rehabilitator around? Because if you do, you should REALLY take it to the rehabilitator to be treated with antibiotics so it won't die of sepsis.
