So yes, you'll want to get chick grit for the little ones, especially if you're dealing with a possible impacted crop because this can help to prevent impaction. When you pick up the chick you want to feel it's crop to see what it feels like, if it's full you'll also want to check again in the morning to make sure that it emptied overnight. I would also check the vent for any signs of blood as this could be a sign of coccidiosis. While you have the chick also look over it to see if there are any other possible signs or symptoms to better tell us what you're contending with.

That is definitely shell, not chick grit. This baby is probably feeling constipated and poorly, because it cannot digest its food properly. If you have sand on your property, you can provide that in the short term until you can get proper chick grit from the store.

Eating long grass like that can cause problems even for adult hens with proper grit. It's not good for babies either.
