Hey everyone. I got a new ringneck hen a week ago she has been sneezing ALOT like I mean all day all night. But is alert. I am afraid it is a respiratory infection but. I can not find anywhere to get Tylan 50. I am in southern Ontario in Canada and it’s apparently hard to get. Is there anything else that will work just as well as tylan 50 ? I’ve had a few ppl tell me apple cider vinegar or garlic in the water will help. But I thought garlic was toxic to birds !? Can anyone please help me I don’t know what to do. TIA

ACV and garlic will do nothing for your hen.
If you can't get Tylan 50, can you get chlortetracycline, erythromycin, or oxytetracycline, duramycin? Sounds as if she might have MG, mycoplasma gallisepticum.

I don’t know what I can get here in Canada right now because our government took a lot of our medications out of our farm stores and our TSC stores that for you guys I guess is tractor supply but I’m gonna call the vet tomorrow see if they have something that I can get off them just hope it’s not super expensive. I didn’t think garlic her apple cider vinegar would’ve done anything

The vet should be able to give you any of the cyclines or mycin drugs. Yep, they can be expensive...here in the states you have to have a script by a vet to get the 'cyclines' but Duramycin is available at most of the TSC's here.

@007Sean so I went ahead and bought this. Hopefully there is no issues at the boarder. Question for you. Can I give this medication the same as Tylan 50 and what would you say the does would be ? I have read a lot of people give it orally can I do that with this stuff ? Thanx for all your help.
I'm going to tag Kathy on the dosage, she can help you out there, more so than I can. @casportpony , need an assist! ;)
