I posted yesterday about my mama hen picking on just 1 of her 4 baby chicks. They are about 4.5 weeks old. I was told she already weaned that one early for some reason. The other 3 can still stick with her with no problem. When this one baby comes near the other babies or her she really attacks it and is aggressive. Like pulls feathers out attacks. Is this normal for weaning? Also I live in MI so the weather is not that warm yet, 50s during day and 30s at night still. Im so worried it’s too cold still and I feel so bad for this lonely girl. She tried to stick with the other older hens but still tries so hard to get back with mama hen and siblings.
Help! I’m not sure what to do.

There isn’t much you can do other than let them work it out. Chicken society isn’t always kind or pretty. Sometimes they can be downright vicious.
Thank you for your reply, unfortunately I had a fox get into my coop (after I opened the doors to let them out) and he got all my little chicks. My big ladies were safe and were already out of coop for the morning but the babies usually would stay in for a little longer and the fox knew that.
