my family is going on vacation in a few months, and i am worried about my ducks!

so first of all, will they be ok having no outside time for a week? they usually only stay inside at night, and their indoor coop is small so i really don’t want to keep them in it the whole time.

my boy will be around 3-4 months old at that time, and he’s already being mean to the girls (he’s only 5 weeks old!) so i’m worried he will hurt them!!

i cant bring them to the same pet sitter as my other boys are at, because they only have the one coop and i don’t want two girls in with 4 boys!

ideas?

Sounds like you will be very busy trying to find someone responsible enough to care for them when you are on vacation. Please keep us posted as to what you find. Good luck. :)

about going on vacation? no i haven’t, just about keeping ducks together but this is different because it’ll just be for a week
Ok, my bad then, I thought it was you. Sorry.

You are going to have to find someone to come and feed them, water them and put them to bed each night. You can't just go away for a week and leave them on their own.

Do you have a neighbor or friend who could come over and let them out for a few hours each day? You definitely can't just leave them locked up in the coop all week. They need fresh food and water and a chance to stretch their legs and run around each day. If you don't know anyone who can do that, maybe look into local homeschool groups or 4H clubs or boy scouts/girl scouts or something, and find a local, responsible teen who would like the job and pay them a fair daily rate.

i am definitely getting someone to take care of them, i’m just wondering if i would need to find a place to bring them, so they can get be outside during the day. or if i could just have someone feed them, and only let them have like an hour a day of play time (which i feel like is too little, because their coop isn’t very big so i wouldn’t want them to be in there all day)

i want to find a place to take them, because the more i think about it, i wouldn’t want them to cry for us all day. they are used to being around humans all day, so i feel like they would freak out if someone only came for like an hour a day. i’m gonna see if any of my friends will watch them
