My 5 month old was fine yesterday and today she started off stumbling now she can't walk and is refusing water and food. She is now sneezing too as she lays completely still in her quarantine box. She appears to be dying and I don't know what she has. I can't take her to a vet- my husband is laid off. Could this be Mareks? I'm so worried for the rest of my flock

I had a Rhode Island with the same problem. Check the comb under all that fluff. Be sure it is bright red. If it is really dark red or purple, then your chicken might have heart disease or a blood disorder. My Rhode Island Red had symtoms only for a few days but she is okay. Good possibility she has Mareks disease. Give her Fluids Gaterade if possible or Powerade enery drinks or sugar water and some food.

Her comb is naturally black, but she is now not moving at all, panting, sneezing. She went downhill so fast. Is she likely contagious?

Likely yes this might be contagious to be on the safe side I would keep her away from the flock untill she is well again.

Poor girl!
I'm sorry, I don't know a ton about chicken diseases and illnesses..Is she warm enough? Have enough iron, calcium, vitamins, and electrolytes in her diet?
I hope she gets better soon!!🤞

Did you look into her beak and throat to check if something got stuck causing the sneezing and panting?

She is warm and gets vitamins and a very well rounded diet. I dont see her getting better from this. I have had sick birds before but the speed at which she crashed is nuts
