In need of help urgently.
I have a chick that I rescued last week. We've been fine and the chick has become attached to me. It cries until it find a way to sleep between my breast but last night It got squeezed due to me wearing a tighter top than usual. The ball that. They usually usually have on their chest is gone and it's unresponsive I believe that there is still a bit of f. Life. I've been massaging it for a while now and breathing into it's mouth and I feel like there is some hope but the chick isn't really responding. I believe it's only been squeezed this morning as it was fine and walking about on me maybe 3hours ago before it went back into my shirt. What do I do? I've been trying to keep it warm since morning. I've been breathing into it's mouth and I offered it water twice but I stopped scared that the water went to it's lungs. It had opened it's eyes this morning after a while but they have closed back. It's. Beak turned purple but seems to be getting back it's color but it's breath smells and I think that's because it hasn't pooped all day it give the tiniest chirps at random so ik it's alive. I wasn't prepared when I took it off the street so I have no special equipment on hand. Can anyone help? I love it so much and I've cried many times today. It was so attached to me and followed me everywhere and cried when it didn't see me I need to save my baby

Did you have a heat lamp or something for it? It cried for you since like all baby things, it can't stay warm by itself. chicks also need other chicks. Keeping it in your cleaveage wasn't the greatest idea but you've figured that out. What are you feeding it? The ball on its chest is the crop, it's kinda like the first stomach in a cow, they store food there to digest later. baby chicks eat, drink and poop a lot, when it's in your shirt, it can't do that. it couldn't move either to properly digest it's food or eat as much as it should be eating to grow.
It might be too late for your little chick, it been might be best to let it pass peacefully in its sleep, I'm sorry.

I wasn't the one putting it it would climb in by its self and I'd remove it but when I'm asleep I don't tend to I roll in my sleep so I tend not to remove it from my chest so that I don't crush it and when it's on me I make sure to stay put. I'm only 16 and my parents aren't that supportive so all I could get for it was rice and It ate it. I can't lose it it's all I have. I skipped school today and kept it in a cloth close to me since I'm the only source of heat available. My heart broke when I didn't hear it cry this morning.

Oh honey. I'm sorry you're going through this. Chicks can't properly digest rice without grit, which are tiny stones, a little bigger than sand granules. Even with grit, rice has almost no protein or nutritional value. Chicks need a high protein diet, such as pre-formulated chick starter. You have a lot going on with this chick, not just the possibility of it being crushed. Prepare yourself for the worst, and don't blame yourself. In the future though, I wouldn't rescue any more chicks. Sometimes nature's way is the best way.

I am so sorry if your chick doesn't make it or didn't make it, I hope that if it is still alive that it will pull through and be a brave little chick! Also if it does pull through I do suggest you get another chick to keep it company because just you keeping it company is not enough.

I wouldn't have taken it but a vehicle was coming and I just couldn't watch it being ran over, it was also dirty and a lady said that the mother left it over an hour ago and it had been crying since. I couldn't leave it

I need it to be alright I have attachment issues especially with baby animals and idk what I'd do if I lose it. I brought it everywhere with me except school and I'd rush home to meet it and bring it outside to spend time. I don't have friends and relied greatly on it to be there with me.

:hugs So sorry you are having to go through this. Are you able to post some pictures? Is it still unresponsive right now?

It sounds like you are very dedicated to your chick. I hope it gets better soon.

I really love it but I'm sure it won't make it and I can't seem to get any pictures uploaded to this site
