Help!!

So my peachick was playing with one of my socks and it got the elastic stuck inside him so my sister tried to cut it off and it’s been shaking it’s head every now and then. It also has been drooling and sleeping every once in a while too. And my sister read that when that happens birds usually die but at the same time when I looked at the article she was reading it showed for small birds and he’s not that small but still I’m scared, idk what to do

A few minutes ago he was eating and drinking right after the incident and now he’s sitting next to me grooming himself but he seems alert, yet I’m scared that he’ll die

he’s barely 5 weeks old

He sounds like he’s stabilized, he should be fine.

If he starts showing other symptoms or coughing again is it possible to get him seen by a vet?

The closest vet to my house only takes dogs and cats idk if there’s any that take baby peacocks

You would need to search for avian or exotic vets, there aren’t a lot of them unfortunatly. Hopefully he’ll be fine though.

I’ll try that, yet as of now he’s been ok and not showing any signs of distress
