Silkie Problem!
Every time my 1.5 year old Silkie bantam hen poops this happens. Then she spends 10 minutes sucking it back in! Help!

But it does not stay out..

It could be dangerous for her if the other chickens see the red prolapse when it is out, because they may peck at it and injure her vent. Cannibalism is a possibility. Do you know if she is constipated or getting enough calcium in her diet. Has she been laying eggs? Does it seem that there is an egg behind the prolapse which might be seen by a bulging vent? What do you feed her? Do you make crushed oyster shell available for her in a separate pan from food?
