Looks and sounds like coccidiosis, especially since they've been free ranging. Coccidia are naturally present in all soil, and there are many, many different strains. The type and load can vary even within your yard. So, Corid (amprolium) is the "go-to." Make sure they have only treated water and NO vitamins - not even medicated feed. Once they're done with the treatment, be sure to give them a few days of a full poultry vitamin. It should keep them from "crashing."They did look like normal cecals yesterday- today not so much, they had coccidiosis as babies and I’m wondering if they got a different strain from free ranging? Whatever it is is contagious because they both have it
But o can’t figure out what else it could poaaibly
Be
The fact that they are eating and drinking is a good sign. It means you caught it early! Corid is a benign treatment. If the problem is coccidiosis, they'll improve pretty quickly. If it's not, Corid won't hurt them. It's a pretty benign treatment.Yes these poor things had it as chicks but it presented very differently, bloody stools and these two in particular continued eating and drinking no issue
Make a REALLY runny mash and lay it along their beaks with an eyedropper. They should swallow reflexively. You can do the same thing with a dose of straight (undiluted) Corid, to make sure they get it. Hang in there! They aren’t eating at all, drinking was better yesterday I’m going to try and make them a mash with the Corrid and maybe some eggs
