my hen had an impacted crop which we treated but this morning she was on the floor and i thought she was dead, she is struggling to breathe, lethargic, and is salivating excessively. there was even a bit of red in it. im so sad and i feel horrible and any help would truly be appreciated. i gave her electrolytes and recover 911 but she isn't getting any better.

I’m so sorry about your chicken, how is she now?

Have you checked in and around her mouth for lesions? Can you see her tongue in her mouth? Do you see where the red may have come from, such as anything bleeding in her mouth?

How long ago was her crop impacted and how did you treat?

Did she get injured? Have the others been pecking at her?

I would give her a little bit of yogurt with vitamins B complex and E.

Can you look into her beak with a light for any yellow material or blood? How does her crop feel first thing in the morning before she eats or drinks? Is she coughing or sneezing? Have you added any new birds to your flock recently?
