Sorry, didn't click with the dry part. Definantly heat lamp, lower it if you have to. How old is baby?

I hope the water was warm. If not fill a warm bottle or a ziplock bag with hot water, wrap a towel around it and lay your duckling onto it to warm up. I have my ducklings swimming since day 4 daily. Warm water and 5 minutes max. Followed by dry toweling and warm brooder lamp. They love it and it promotes their oil gland to produce preen sooner.

For next time, for their first six weeks or so, I made their bathwater 90 degrees F and made sure the brooder was clean, dry, and warmed up for their return. The first few swims were 3 to 5 minutes, extending up to about 10.
