Considering that we only have a picture to go by, I would say that is true. I am not a vet and even a vet couldn't diagnose it based on that. I can't even tell if it's a sinus infection or if another bird pecked it in the eye personally. But Tylan does seem to work on sinus infections, which could be a secondary infection.

I never had a culture done on my birds because we have two vets in our town, a pet vet and a livestock vet. I called when I had an injured turkey, and each vet told me to call the other vet. They'll give me any med I want (prescription or not) but don't want to see my birds. I called the State Dept of Ag when I got some BBW poults and they were all dying (I suspect botulism, there was a dead one in the box on arrival that smelled really bad), I wanted to see if I could send a blood sample. They wanted me to send a 'fresh dead poult' and $75 for starters, more $$ if they had to look harder to find what was wrong and no guarantee. I was already down to three left so I decided not to do that. So some of us have to treat the symptoms and just go from there without a culture.

Thanks guys. I didn't get tylan yet, too busy at work..12 hour shifts are brutal but i did seperate this turkey from the rest and his eye seems to be doing a little better. I rub his eye with a warm washcloth every day and it sems to be helping. There aren't any livestock vets where I live unfortunately but the lady at the feed store said it could be from stress. So I hope his eye gets better, I'm planning on getting tylan asap but until they get some at my local feed store there isn't anything i can do

I just hope its nothing to serious and that I don't have to cull. I'd be devastated.
