Tending to my chickens
I did my usual inspection of one of my hens, just to make sure she doesn't have fleas, ticks, lice, or mites. I gently lifted up a patch of feathers on her back and noticed she had a patch of feathers about 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" in size missing. There was no damage to her skin. This spot is only visible if you pull up a patch of feathers. She isn't on the top of the pecking order, in fact, she's closer to the bottom. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Could be several things. Molt, irritation, picking from other birds...
