I have 2 Golden Campine chicks who whenever I let them out of their run they decide to fly out. The problem is we live in a subdivision, and have a forest behind our house. Also, over the past few days they have been flying to the dog side. I can't clip their wings because I'm showing them this fall. I've already tried to put strings up, but they're "acrobats" in the air.

What does your set-up look like? I have an outdoor pen for my girls that I've covered with a tarp held down with small bungee cords. Keeps them in, keeps hawks out.

Wehave strings that go all the way across the run, horizontally and vertically, but they are so tiny they slip right through the gaps!

I do not know how to help :/ Unfortunately....But, when I got my first chickens, the lady who gave them to me, Officer Ruddick, had a big, blue tarp over the top, being held down by little bungee type cords. Hope this helps

I've figured out that if I let them forage and fill their crops in the forest, when I put them back they decide to stay.
