HELP??

How long has she been doing this? Is she otherwise active? I had a hen do almost the exact same thing the other day, she had a piece of hay stuck in her throat. She finally was able to cough it up and she was completely fine.

It could also be a respiratory thing but if it is she'd likely be acting unwell, not eating or drinking much, standing around. If it is a respiratory disease the other chickens are already exposed so quarantine at this point would be useless. However if she is sick she will need to be brought in, kept warm and given antibiotics. I would suggest Tylan 50. You can give a 1/2 cc orally for 5 days.

She has no mucus, just cough, and gasping.. I've given her dewormer and I do have some meds for respitory infection. All the other hens are fine.. She was still up and doing things, but hasn't really been eatting much or drinking much and couching when swallowing. So if the wormer doesn't help then i will treat for respitory. She is out in the garage by herself (besides cats) in a caged in area where there is a heater near that'll keep it around 70 something..

She is eatting a lil bit and drinking a lil bit. She gave us a good shelled egg yesterday but is still sick. She now has mucus and my new girl i got yesterday has a uri. So put them two together and am treating everyone with medication. The salmon faverolle is also clucking better but as i mentioned she now has mucus. She may be doing better from the warmth

Such pretty ladies. Good, you are medicating them. Sounds like you have things under control and hopefully you start to see improvement in the next day or so. At least you now know it's respiratory now, at least with mucous and the other one getting ill it sure sounds like it is to me.

I bet they'll be good as new soon. Watch for more signs of stress though.

Let us know how it's going!
