I am new to the quail world and I need help! I have approx. 20 quail all brownish

they look like this how can I tell the gender? what type they are?
&& I have a solid white one

can anyone tell me how to tell its gender and how can we get them to lay eggs we have got two in the past three days since we got them.

Brown are called pharoah. White is texas a&m or english white. The pharoah males have rusty colored chest, females cream color with speckles. Whites just wait till crowing starts to sex them. If you just got them then they are nervous about the new surroundings. Keep them calm and give them a dust bath and should have eggs in a couple weeks

I gave them a dust bath and they love it... I have read on some pages that quails need nesting boxes and others say no which do you have better luck with? && the males crow correct lol I have a few that crow

This type of quail doesnt need a nest. Mine lay mostly in the dust bath. Sometimes they lay eggs at random spots. Yes males are the crowing ones

lol thanks we are new to this! My SO always loved quail growing up and finally was able to get some! is there anything else that I might need to know for these type of quails?

Any waterer will work. Well they waste alot of feed so look for "low waste feeder" here. They poop alot and keep your male to female ratio around 1:5
