So I did reasearch online and they said to introduce a new chicken it's better to put them in at night and there will be less tension in the morning. Well I found this to be a myth my chickens literally attacked my other chicken and left it to die and I don't know what to do. Any help

! Great to have you here! Sorry to hear about your attacked chicken. Putting them in at night is advice I have given on BYC. When I say 'night' I mean pitch dark and no artificial light in the coop. It's been my experience that with their poor vision after dark they are quite docile. In the a.m. I open the coop at first light so the newbies aren't trapped. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

It's hard to tell from the picture but it appears the top of her head is raw or torn, If you can isolate her if not already, you can treat with some bluekote, or a salve without pain killer.. They are pretty tough and can and will recover from some bad injuries. I usually put them in a pen next to or in the coop with the existing flocks for several days and then move them in at evening time after they have had a time to meet and greet. But they will still have to settle there pecking order deal out.

Welcome to BYC!!!
