I just bought a new lady Amherst pheasant . I had a ring neck but he disappeared (I don't know where!). So I bought a lady Amherst. Know I have a problem that although I have clipped his wings , he gets into the trees and he could go out of the house boundaries from their. So what should I do.

I don't know how much experience you've had with pheasants but all pheasants are basically "wild birds". Meaning that if they are not kept in an enclosed area they will fly, fast and far, and your chances of ever seeing them again or slim and next to none. Also clipping the flight feathers of these birds leaves them helpless to predators, coyotes, hawks, owls, and all sorts of varmits. The only defense they have is to be able to fly away. Pheasants are beautiful birds and a lot of fun to raise but they do require some preparation as far as housing goes. Good Luck Amigo.

I have a huge ground.I don't keep him enclosed. Where I live there are no predators to any of our animals.
