I have posted the same darned question all over the place. I have a GORGEOUS hen that resembles a black sex link OR a black maran. However, she has a mop top. What breed is this??? No pics unfortunately.

Its almost impossible to discern the breed by description alone.

Did you buy her as an adult or raise her from a chick. Neither a black copper marans nor a black sex link has a "mop hat". Sounds like a mixed breed hen,possibly with polish in her genetic makeup.

Sounds like a golden polish cross, but without a pic, you cannot get a definitive answer.
