Help !

I don't see anything In the poop. I'm not positive they are old enough for meal worms at 3 weeks but I'd not let them have any for a while. Once you've ruled out Coccidiosis read up on medicated feed. Medicated feed helps them develope an immunity to Coccidiosis. You wouldn't want to feed them medicated feed if they were vaccinated for Coccidiosis.

I didn't even know they could get vaccinated. I'll take them to the vet tomorrow to get their shots. I totally forgot to mention this but it looks like one is gasping for air. He's not doing it now but he was earlier in the tub.

Ok so it is her. She just pooped and it smells really really bad and doesn't look normal. It doesn't look like there's any blood but still. I got a picture of this one and it looks similar to the bloody poop. Up at the top part where it's really dark that's what the entire other poop looked like. This looks like a mix between the two poops.

I think the blood in Cocci-infected birds looks a bit different. You might phone the Vet & inquire if you could bring in a poo sample, will they test it for you? If you observe neither duckling pooping blood, then my opinion is that they probly don't need to go in to the Vet. But a test on the poo might tell you something and give you peace of mind.

Ok so the vet will see and treat ducks but doesn't know that much about them so he couldn't give me any advice. What I'm thinking is that they talked to the younger vet that works there. The older vet is an old farm vet so I'm guessing he would be the person to ask. I'll just go down there later.

Well I think all they'd need is the poo to test for Cocci? Right? I've not dealt with it myself, but my thought is that they'd either look at a sample under a microscope, or swab it and grow a culture.

It was just the one pooping what I thought was blood but I stopped giving them the mealworms and the odor along with the really dark poop is now gone. They have been pooping all day and only one poop was like the really smelly one and it wasn't nearly as bad. I think we're good guys I've never owned ducks so I kinda freaked a bit. Better to be safe than sorry I guess. Thanks for all your help !
