Help?!

My adult black australorp has been in the nesting box for about three days and we have 15 baby chicks and I'm sure that some are roosters could it be trying to hatch eggs?

Are you saying that this BA is a ROO that's broody and setting? Confused by your post...

the BA is a year and a half old hen but we got baby chicks this year and for the past three days my chicken has been in its nesting box (where my two other adult chickens also lay there eggs) and will not leave

Who knows...these hens have a mind of their own...they're definitely dancing to a different drummer, that's for sure! Glad that page helped you out....do you plan on putting her in a "broody breaker"??
