Help!!

How exciting! What works well for me is transporting chickens in those 5 gallon plastic totes. Keeping it dark will keep the chicken calm. This is the only way I've ever transported chickens, but I have experimented with lids on versus lids off. Lids on seem to keep the chicken calmer because they tend to go to sleep when it's darker. :)

Thank you for your tips!!! Do you think a dog crate could work also? That's what my grandma is getting ready for her to be transported in.

Any other advice is welcome!

A dog crate would work just as well.

Sorry, I keep asking, I'm just really anxious about getting my new chicken tomorrow. Do you all have any tips for keeping her calm on the way back? It's about 15 hours to where she is so obviously that's a long trip. Should I keep her in a dark crate or let light come through?

Thank you all so much!!

Ok so I got Mary! I'll be leaving with her on Wednesday. She is broody at the time which will make traveling easier. (I think!) If she happens to stay broody once I'm done quarantining her, do you think she will accept pullets easier at all?

Here she is!! We arrived home last night. All of today she has just been sitting on the nest. She has eaten and drinken a little but I haven't found any poops. Should I be concerned?
