HELP

The towels are changed every few days. I shake off all the poop and then throw them in the washer with detergent and bleach.
I will raise around 300 chicks and keets this year and I would run out of towels very quickly if I threw them out.

yeah i put towels down already and had planned on cycling through them, i wont put them in my washer, but i will shake it clean then use a bucket and let them dry on the fence.

one more question,

#3 - what stage should i increase their area of play?

34 chicks have approximately 10 square feet, at what age do you increase and then again?

and what stage do you let them roam free in the grass? i really wanted to take them outside and make a box in the grass, is this a bad idea??? if its warm in the day? with supervision? (at what age?)

I increased my brooder size when mine hit 3 weeks and they were so happy.
I've been taking them out to play in the yard since 2 weeks old. Only when it's warm out tho and I stay with them.

thanks much i'll do that, and i'll make a box (just four sides no bottoms) to put them in.

my chicks get the pleasure of eating a LOT of mosquitos. the swamp behind us has saved me on lots of feed! lol

Update - chicks all alive. The talon is healed and his claw is fine.
The temperatures you read online are no good for my breed. Lowered the temperature and they seem much happier..actually they seem happiest when in coolest range even

to anyone who cared, we raised 34 chicks, and kept 3 roosters and 19 hens and now have 12 in the freezer.
